2026 Recipient:
Aneeta Pathak, DTM
I am truly honoured to pay tribute to the 2026 George Keenan Award recipient, Aneeta Pathak, DTM.
When Aneeta joined Toastmasters in 2013, she couldn’t have known the extraordinary journey ahead—or the lasting impact she would have on District 60 and beyond. What began as a personal commitment to growth became a decade of remarkable service and leadership.
From club member to District 60 Director in 2021–2022, and now as International Region 5 Advisor for 2025–2026, Aneeta has led with purpose, consistency, and heart. And through every role, one guiding belief has remained constant: Members Matter Most.
This isn’t just something Aneeta says—it’s something she lives. You see it in the clubs she has coached and sponsored. In the leaders she has trained and mentored, in the speech contests she has supported, and in the countless members she has encouraged to step forward, grow, and believe in themselves.
As Public Relations Manager, she shared the Toastmasters message far and wide. As Club Growth Director, she brought people together, building strong teams and helping clubs not just succeed—but thrive.
But titles and achievements only tell part of the story. Aneeta’s greatest strength is who she is.
She leads with care.
With compassion.
With empathy.
She has an incredible ability to see potential in others—sometimes before they see it in themselves—and to gently, steadily bring that potential to life. Whether supporting her own district or guiding six districts as Region 5 Advisor, her focus has always been the same: people first.
I know this because I had the privilege of working alongside Aneeta during her Trio years. I saw firsthand the kind of leader she is—the kind who listens to understand, not just to respond… who builds trust… who empowers others… and who is always there, quietly guiding, supporting, and uplifting her team.
That is the legacy of true leadership. Aneeta, your dedication, your integrity, and your unwavering commitment to service embody everything this award represents.
Congratulations. This honour is so very well deserved. And yes—wear the hat proudly.

George Keenan Award Recipient 2025
George Keenan
George Keenan was a dedicated Toastmaster who served Toastmasters International and District 60 for many years, particularly as Parliamentarian and Credentials Chair, and as District Governor in 1984-85. He was one of the most recognized Toastmasters in District 60 due in large part to his stature and his distinctive black hat which he always wore. In 1995, to commemorate his 80th birthday and his 35th year in Toastmasters, his wife Judy, in coordination with the District Leadership Team, established an award in his name.
The George Keenan Award is given each year to an active Toastmaster in District 60 who continues to serve and promote the Toastmasters organization within the district and externally. The Selection Committee, consisting of past recipients who continue to be active in District 60, meets to consider all eligible nominations, selecting a recipient who embodies the Toastmasters values and continues to serve Toastmasters in District 60.
