Why do I want to be a Division Director?
I am running to become a Division Director because I would like to share my knowledge and experience with my fellow Toastmasters throughout the Division and District. Sometimes it hard to maintain the interest in Toastmasters where there are so many outside distractions, but I fully believe that the Toastmasters Pathways program can build one’s communication skills, leadership skills, and a sense of community in today’s fast pace world. I believe with my passion for Toastmasters and my proven abilities to organizational and diplomacy skills I will be a successful Division Director B
Before discovering Toastmasters, I have been known as a hard worker, work with a diverse group of team members and always trying to solve problems and find better ways to do things. Once joined Toastmasters I brought these same qualities to my clubs, the clubs in my area, to the district, and will bring them to the role of Division Director – B.
What are my priorities and plans for Division B?
As a Division Director, I would be there to support and encourage area directors to achieve their personal and District goals by holding monthly division council meetings, assisting Area Directors completing their area visit reports, reviewing the area visit reports with the Area Directors when completed, assistance with planning area contests and plan division contests, and much more. I will also arrange COT, and other training opportunities in the division thought the year for club officers and club members in achieving their goals and working with Area Directors and club officers in achieving Distinguished recognition.
2020-2021 is a key turning point for everyone in District 60. In July 2021 the District Reformation will see Division B be part of District 123. As Division Director I will work together with the Area Directors to ensure that each club and area will ready for the move by the end of June 2021.
Final thoughts about myself
When I joined Toastmasters five years ago, the Area Director for my club told me once, “Whenever someone gives you an opportunity to learn and grow do not say “No.” If you say “No” you would not learn and grow.”
