My name is Mohan Gunarajah. I hope that I can count on you to vote me as the Division D Director for the coming year. I deeply believe in the Toastmasters’ mission to “empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.” Together, we can make Division D standout in District 60.
My goal as the director for Division D is to strengthen our existing clubs by with the assistance of the Area Directors, introducing new clubs within our division and support the development of our members.
Since joining Toastmasters in 2013, I had the opportunity to hone my people and leadership skills while serving and mentoring members. I have held several club executive roles such as Club Secretary, VP Membership and President. As well as have been a Club Coach and Club Mentor. In addition, I have served as an Area Director in 2016-2018 and won the Area Director of the Year award in 2018 for my work supporting our members and clubs. In 2018, I was the Alignment chair for District 60. Following that, in 2019 I served as the Division Director for Division D. As the Division Director, I supported my Area Directors to build new clubs, strengthen existing clubs, focus on educational excellence, and help our members achieve their personal and club goals. In addition, I am part of the 2019 Alignment committee with a commitment to be in this committee next year as 2020-2021 is a key turning point for everyone in District 60.
In July 2021 the District Reformation will see Division D be part of District 123. As Division Director I will work together with the Area Directors to ensure that each club and area will ready for the move by the end of June 2021.
I wish to stand for elections to become a Division Director for Division D because I am passionate about Toastmasters and giving back to the organization. I believe that my experience will allow me to efficiently support the growth of our members and the development of the Division.
I am detailed oriented and have a reputation for strong work ethic and being a responsible team player. My current professional roles have allowed me to become adaptable and agile in managing different priorities, effectively leading teams to meet goals and overcoming obstacles.
