In Constant Contact, several subscribers lodge the same concerns as us.
Here is a satisfactory compromise I found on Constant Contact:
There are several reasons why Constant Contact emails go into the Promotion Tab: “Gmail moves marketing and bulk emails, such as deals, offers, and other promotional messages, into the Promotions tab. Emails sent through Constant Contact typically end up here because we are an Email Service Provider (ESP).”
Though no fault of our own, this is the way Gmail sorts things out. A couple of options in Gmail can be used to determine how you want to receive your incoming mail.
- Use Gmail like a regular email account by disabling the Promotion and any other tabs except for the Primary tab. This way all incoming email goes to the Primary tab.
- The easiest way to ensure email from District 60, Toastmasters International, and Constant Contact goes into the Primary tab is to periodically check the other tabs for email that you want to go into the Primary tab. It is as simple as dragging the email(s) from one tab to the Primary tab and answering a simple question. See the example below:
After moving/dragging the desired emails from their current location to the Primary tab and answering yes to the question “Conversation moved to Primary. Do this for future messages from email@address.com?” Future emails from the sender will automatically go to the Primary tab.
