Learning and Practicing Parliamentary Procedure:
We start the night with a refresher on the technical parts of making a motion after that the lecture will become hands on and interactive, we will learn by doing, presenting a motion, getting to speak on it, and finally passing the motion.
Practice motions can be entertaining or tumultuous, come join us, learn, participate and enjoy.
Outline: Meetings Need Rules
The workshop will last between an hour and an hour 15 minutes
It has long been discovered that in conducting business whether it be within the Parliament of a nation or a small church group meetings can be chaotic without some form of rules.
At the end of this lecture you will, using Roberts Rules of Order know how to present a motion and be knowledgeable as to how to move a motion and your rights to speaker to it.
You will gain enough experience to Chair a meeting more effectively.
