What is Alignment?
Each year, every District is mandated to make alignment changes to account for new clubs, lost clubs, and clubs which change meeting location. The goal of alignment is to ensure that each club is supported within the District. An Alignment Committee is tasked to make suggestions for how to group clubs and proposes its recommendation for a vote at the Council Meeting in April 2025.
Alignment Chair:

Vision:
To communicate effectively with stakeholders and to recommend solutions for a 2024-2025 alignment plan that serves the needs of clubs and areas within the District.
Mission / Objectives:
To take into consideration requirements of Toastmasters International in developing the alignment of D60 clubs by July 1, 2025.
- Divisions must have at least three (3) Areas.
- Areas consist of four (4) to six (6) clubs; however, an Area may consist of three (3) clubs on July 1 only when an effort to charter a fourth club is in process.
- Under no circumstances may an Area have more than six (6) clubs on July 1.
- Districts assign clubs to Areas based upon:
- Geographic proximity to other clubs
- The ability of an Area Director to effectively provide service
- Club size and strength (e.g., paid, active, disbanding)
- Prospective clubs and expected growth
- The likelihood of eligibility for Distinguished programs (e.g., club base of the Area or Division)
The objective is to have balanced Areas with a mixture of high performing clubs with new clubs and those with growth opportunities, while keeping in mind the location and meeting times of the clubs.
